I completed my Master of Social Work degree at Carleton University in 1995 with a focus upon counselling practice.  Since graduation, I have pursued further training in the clinical practice of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Clinical Hypnosis.  I have also been trained in the fields of substance use and addiction recovery, relationships and marital therapy, gender and sexuality, treatment of sexual addictions, and in hormone readiness assessment for transgender clients.

I have spent more than a decade honing my clinical counselling skills in community service organizations and health agencies across Canada, and have been a Registered Social Worker in British Columbia since 1998.  I am a member in good standing with the British Columbia College of Social Workers, and the British Columbia Association of Social Workers' Code of Ethics guides my professional practice.  I have operated my private counselling practice since 2003.

I have also participated in various group facilitation and consultation roles throughout the years, and enjoy being part of the process of growth and healing within communities.  I have trained other counselling and health professionals in the areas of addictions and harm reduction, sexuality and gender, and chronic health issues, and I teach counselling skills and issues to new counsellors.

My life is enriched by the work I do, and I am continually growing alongside my clients and the communities in which I work and live.  I am honoured to be part of your personal growth and healing journey.
